Kriti Sanon and Varun Dhawan have brought familiar Hindi-film voices to Obsession. In its official announcement on 29 October 2026, JioHotstar identifies Sanon as the Hindi voice of Nikki and Dhawan as the voice of Bear, with Amar Kaushik involved in bringing the presentation together.
The platform announced the original uncut version for 30 October, from 7 pm, on its Peacock Hub. This is a platform-announced release schedule; Famous has not independently tested full-film playback.
What the promotional scene does — and does not — mean
The performers’ recreation of a dinner-table scene has prompted attention around the Hindi release. It provides a recognisable face-to-face introduction to their involvement, but the distinction matters: voicing characters in an existing film is not the same thing as starring in a newly filmed Indian remake.
No remake announcement is established by the platform’s statement. Calling the promotional scene a new feature film would turn a marketing device into a production claim.
The performance moves to the microphone
Dubbing gives an actor a different set of constraints. The image already has a rhythm, and the voice must work with the timing of a face and body on screen. A performance has to carry feeling while remaining part of a scene that was photographed in another language.
That makes the interesting question more specific than whether two stars look good together. How does a voice handle hesitation, tension or a sudden change in emotional direction? Does it help the viewer stay inside the scene?
Promotion is not a review
A short recreation can suggest how performers approach a moment. It cannot establish the quality of an entire dubbed feature, and online praise is not a substitute for assessing the finished work.
For audiences deciding how to watch, the useful information is the language version, the credited voices and the official platform. A familiar performer can be a reason to sample a dub without becoming a guarantee that every creative choice will work.
Would you watch Obsession in its original language or try the Hindi performances?
